Measured physical, chemical, and biological attributes of soil — what the soil is at a given location. This is the analytical data from soil sampling and laboratory analysis.

Scope

  • Physical properties: Texture (sand/silt/clay fractions), bulk density, porosity, structure
  • Chemical properties: pH, organic carbon content, CEC, nutrient levels (N, P, K)
  • Biological properties: Microbial biomass, enzyme activity, earthworm counts
  • Hydraulic properties: Infiltration rate, field capacity, wilting point, hydraulic conductivity
  • Depth profiles: Properties measured at multiple depths through the soil profile
